Chandra Christenson, owner of Simplified
Celebrations, has had a love of flowers from a young age. It all
started with picking buttercups with her grandfather. In turn, she
enrolled at a local college and took classes in Botany. As well as
graduating from The Floral Design Institute in Seattle, Chandra has
formal experience in a local flower shop. Recently, Chandra took Advanced Wedding Designs from FDI
and continues to stay current on trends in floral artistry and
design.
“You could say this is a family business. Often times my mother and sister are involved in processing flowers or wiring roses for an event. My friends have been in the studio numerous times either sweeping, cleaning buckets, or to run out and get ribbon for a finishing touch. My boys Ethan (age 4) and Cartsen (17mo) love to watch mommy create “pretty smelling flowers.” They even like to haul stems and leaves around in their Tonka trucks. I feel lucky that I get to work with clients that are celebrating some of the biggest events of their lives. I have a huge sense of accomplishment and pride when a bride comes up to me after her wedding and tells me that she can't believe we created a dream from a few magazine clippings and a couple of consultations. All of this combined is what makes this my dream job….”
Kathy Snowhite joined Simplified Celebrations in June 2009 and has been a vital part of the business. Though she has a full time job at the juvenile center, she loves designing and it shows in her creativity. With over 10 years of experience, Kathy excels at large scale designs, silk florals and corsages. Kathy has two children Kylie (18 yrs old) and Collin (14 years old) both of which are honorary members of our team. Kylie often times babysits Ethan and Carsten while Collin has actually helped with designing and set up of weddings. In Kathy’s off time (which is very little between two jobs) she enjoys riding quads, spending time with friends and family, and soaking up the sun on the river in the summer.
